The Canal Cavour is an artificial canal built to support rice farming in the mid-nineteenth century, on the initiative of Earl Camillo Benso of Cavour. The canal begins at Chivasso on the river Po at Chivasso and flows into Ticino in the municipality of Galliate.

It is the path that allows you to know closely the stretch of Padana plain extending between Piedmont and Lombardy. The Cavour Canal route intercepts Eurovelo 8 and the Sea Cycle Route.
