Villa Leumann is the center of the community of Pianezza since December 1997. The current structure of the main building is principally the work of Peter Fenoglio (1865 -1927). The main part of the structure dates from 1788; onto this has been grafted elements characteristic of the Liberty style, such as the prestigious stair case, the plaster architectural detail on the interior ceilings, the winter garden at the ground floor western end. The villa's name derives from Napoleone Leumann, founder of the textile mills located on the opposite side of the Dora near Collegno. Leumann chose Pianezza for his residence, restoring the Villa according to the taste of the age and encircling it with a splendid park, much larger than the present grounds.
