The construction of the church was initiated by the Brotherhood devoted to worship of the Holy Sprit of Jesus. The construction of the church was begun in 1680, and finished in 1682. Exhibiting an impressive architectural harmony, with an elegant facade in superimposed overlapping surfaces separated by a cornice, it introduces the characteristic elements of sixteenth century architecture. The facade, composed of a surface subdivided into six mirrors, culminates in a recessed triangular space crowned with short pinnacles. To the center, over the main entrance, a three-part window formed by the two columns passes light to the interior. The church has a single nave with two chapels located laterally.
